Alpha-1 is deliberately limited.
aligned.email works with an existing Gmail or Microsoft account. Alpha-1 focuses on reading and organizing incoming mail so we can evaluate the relationship-first experience. It does not send, delete, archive, or otherwise change messages at the provider. These limits define this Alpha, not the product’s future scope.
Provider boundary
Your provider remains the source
Messages continue to arrive at Gmail or Microsoft, where the provider’s spam and security protections still apply. aligned.email reads from one connected provider account at a time and presents its own local organization of those messages.
You authorize access through your provider’s sign-in process. Microsoft access uses a read-mail permission. Gmail’s IMAP connection requires a broader mail permission, even though the Alpha’s implemented operations are read-only.
Your control
Relationship decisions stay with you
Approving a sender is an explicit decision about one email address. It affects where that sender’s messages appear in aligned.email; it does not approve an entire domain or turn off message-level protections.
Those relationship decisions are currently stored on the device and are not synchronized between devices. You can reconsider an Allowed or Ignored sender, and you can reverse an individual Suspicious determination.
Defensive layers
Designed to reduce exposure, not promise safety
Unknown senders begin outside the Inbox, reducing their immediate claim on your attention. An individual message may also be quarantined in Suspicious for deliberate review.
These are defensive layers, not guarantees. aligned.email does not promise complete threat detection or perfect classification, and a decision can be corrected when it is wrong.
